                                          Breaking a script

So what does breaking a script means?
who does break it?
what does it involve?

Well to start with, the director is the one who breaks the script and to do that, the first thing he has to do, is to read it over and over again until he knows it by heart(well not that much!) but until he gets a clear vision of it and start playing it in his head.then he'd think on how he's intending to tell the story;  once he establishes that ,he can move on to the theme, moral premise,  characters, main actions(what event grabs the audience)and the consequences of this actions and results, tension in the story(what drives the story into what happens next), locations, if the story make sense or not. and once that is done , then we can move on to the scene breakdown(which im not sure if it is still his job or not sooo im gona stop here).

                                                           Video of this week

I've done a lot of research this week to see which video is the best about script breakdown to upload it for u guys  and omg!! 1- there is a LOT to learn about a script breakdown and 2- there is a lot of softwares that help us to do that!! and apparently Final Draft is a good one. so video of this week which is really helpful issssss :

And this is another video about a lecturer talking about script breakdown that looks like he's teaching science!!:

i personally thought that script breakdown would start straight from the shot list ,but obviously i was wrong, i think we need to practice to get the hang of it.i cant wait until we start filming and by filming i mean all the pre-production work as well!!

Ah well that's aaaall for this week ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,au revoir.
